About

Prof. Paraskevas (Paris) Savvaidis holds a Diploma in Rural and Surveying Engineering and a PhD in Geodesy. He is Director of the Laboratory of Geodesy and Geomatics, Department of Civil Engineering, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He is President of the National Map Library of Greece. His main research topics include Monitoring of the deformation of structures and industrial installations, Surveying of buildings and archaeological sites, Use of the satellite GPS system for geodetic, geodynamical applications as well as vehicle control and navigation, GIS and web-based GIS applications for the management of Natural Disasters and History of Cartography.
